        "content": "<p>APEC businessmen to discuss free trade<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Representatives of the private sectors of the<br>\nAsia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, grouped in the<br>\nAsia Pacific Business Network (APB-Net), will meet in Osaka,<br>\nJapan, next week to discuss free trade issues.<\/p>\n<p>Aminuddin, an Indonesian delegate of APB-Net, said in a<br>\nstatement here yesterday that the APEC private sectors will meet<br>\non June 2 to prepare for an APB-Net congress scheduled for<br>\nOctober 22 in Osaka.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders of APEC are scheduled to attend a summit in Osaka<br>\nin November. Their last summit, held in Bogor, West Java, last<br>\nyear produced a resolution aiming for the creation of the world&apos;s<br>\nlargest free trade area by 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It is our hope that the next APB-Net congress and the next<br>\nAPEC summit will lead to the creation of a blueprint for trade<br>\nliberalization, as well as a clear framework for the cooperation<br>\nof private sectors,&quot; said Aminuddin, who is also the chair of<br>\nforeign relations committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce<br>\nand Industry.<\/p>\n<p>Aminuddin said that the Indonesian delegation included<br>\neconomist Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti and former legislator Marzuki<br>\nDarusman.<\/p>\n<p>APEC groups the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada,<br>\nChina, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines,<br>\nBrunei, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Mexico, Chile, Taiwan,<br>\nHong Kong and South Korea.
