Apartment permits withheld<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The city administration is withholding building
\ndevelopment permits for two towers of the Taman Rasuna Said
\napartments because the developer has not fulfilled barter
\nagreement obligations.<\/p>\n
Assistant to the City Secretary Prawoto Danoemihadjo said that
\nPT Catur Swasakti Utama (CSU), the developer of the apartment
\ncomplex on Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, has yet to build a
\nschool building in another area to replace the school building it
\ndemolished to make way for the construction of the two towers.<\/p>\n
\"The developer violated the agreement and regulations by
\ndemolishing the school building and by illegally appropriating
\ncity properties, so the city administration required it to build
\na new school in another area. But up until now it has not yet
\nfulfilled its obligation,\" Prawoto told reporters over the
\nweekend.<\/p>\n
He said that last year PT CSU illegally appropriated state-
\nowned property, including the school building.<\/p>\n
Many prospective buyers of the apartments have complained to
\nthe developer about the delay in the construction of the project.<\/p>\n
Prawoto said the city administration would not allow the
\ndeveloper to build the two apartment towers until it has
\nfulfilled its barter obligations.<\/p>\n
He explained that the developer had applied for 11 building
\npermits to build 11 towers. The city administration granted nine
\nof the permits, while the other two have been withheld due to the
\ndeveloper's failure to comply with the requirements set.<\/p>\n
Currently, the developer, PT CSU is 100 percent controlled by
\nBakrie Investindo, a holding corporation of the widely
\ndiversified Bakrie business group. (yns)<\/p>",
