        "content": "<p>Anwar's trial may resume in 2000<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): The sex trial of Malaysia's jailed<br>\nformer finance minister Anwar Ibrahim, adjourned before snap<br>\nelections last month, is not expected to resume until next year,<br>\na court official said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Arifin Jaka has summoned prosecution and defence lawyers<br>\nto a meeting on Saturday to set dates for the resumption of the<br>\npolitically sensitive trial, High Court deputy registrar Rozilah<br>\nSalleh said.<\/p>\n<p>\"The trial will most likely resume after Hari Raya,\" Rozilah<br>\nsaid, referring to the Muslim Eid al-Fitr celebration marking the<br>\nend of the fasting month of Ramadhan. Eid al-Fitr falls at the<br>\nend of the first week of January.<\/p>\n<p>Arifin suspended the trial on Nov. 10, without giving any<br>\nreason for the adjournment.
