        "content": "<p>Antigraft law delayed<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Justice and human rights minister Hamid Awaluddin said<br>\non Tuesday that his office may have to delay issuing a crucial<br>\nantigraft ruling as it was still focussing on relief efforts in<br>\ntsunami-hit areas in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have made the draft but have not discussed it yet with law<br>\nexperts as we are busy in Aceh,\" he told reporters after a<br>\nhearing at the Constitutional Court.<\/p>\n<p>He earlier said that the ministry would immediately discuss<br>\nthe draft with law experts before presenting it to the Attorney<br>\nGeneral's Office, the National Police, and the Corruption<br>\nEradication Commission.<\/p>\n<p>But Hamid asserted that the drafting of the government<br>\nregulation in lieu of law, which would allow law enforcers to<br>\ndetain high-profile corruption suspects right from the beginning<br>\nof the investigation, would be completed some time next month.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling is being drafted in a bid to accelerate the<br>\ngovernment's anticorruption drive. -- JP<\/p>",
