        "content": "<p>Anti-independence activists angered<\/p>\n<p>AMBON, Maluku: Dozens of youths staged a rally here on Monday<br>\nto demand that separatists be firmly dealt with to prevent more<br>\nviolence following the April 25 incident that sparked a week-long<br>\nkilling spree in which nearly 40 people were hacked to death or<br>\nkilled by snipers.<\/p>\n<p>The protest preceded by several hours the flying of two<br>\nindependence flags of the predominantly Christian Republic of<br>\nSouth Maluku (RMS) over a Muslim neighborhood and later an<br>\nexplosion in the early evening. No group claimed responsibility<br>\nfor the flag-raising or the bomb.<\/p>\n<p>The rally was the first to take place after the renewed<br>\nviolence and it briefly crippled activities in the Ambon mayor's<br>\noffice.<\/p>\n<p>However, the demonstration ended peacefully around midday amid<br>\ntight security by police officers. --JP<\/p>",
