        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)\nsuspects that Sudewo (SDW), while serving as Regent of Pati, influenced\na number of projects in Pati Regency, Central Java, through the \u201cTeam of\nEight\u201d, which was his campaign team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is suspected that the Team of Eight, on the orders of Mr.\u00a0SDW,\nengaged in influencing these projects,\u201d said KPK Spokesperson Budi\nPrasetyo at the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (24\nFebruary).<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Budi said that on 24 February 2026, the KPK questioned a\nnumber of witnesses related to the Pati Public Works and Spatial\nPlanning Office.<\/p>\n<p>One of the witnesses was Riyoso (RYS), who served as the Head of the\nPati Public Works and Spatial Planning Office and also briefly held the\nposition of Acting Regional Secretary of Pati.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, investigators are continuing to investigate and examine\nwhich projects are suspected of having been influenced,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed that it had\nconducted a sting operation in Pati Regency and arrested the Regent of\nPati, Sudewo.<\/p>\n<p>On 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo, along with seven other\nindividuals, to the KPK\u2019s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in the case of\nalleged corruption related to extortion in the filling of village\nofficial positions within the Pati Regency Government.<\/p>\n<p>They are the Regent of Pati, Sudewo (SDW); the Head of Karangrowo\nVillage, Jakenan District, Abdul Suyono (YON); the Head of Arumanis\nVillage, Jaken District, Sumarjiono (JION); and the Head of Sukorukun\nVillage, Jaken District, Karjan (JAN).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the KPK announced that Sudewo is a suspect in the case\nof alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of\nrailway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry\nof Transportation.<\/p>",
