Jakarta \u2014 The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has cautioned regional\nleaders that they are not obligated to provide Eid holiday allowances\n(THR) to external parties, particularly members of the Regional\nLeadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe KPK reminds us that regional leaders have no obligation to\nprovide anything whatsoever to external parties,\u201d said Asep Guntur\nRahayu, Deputy for Prosecution and Execution at the KPK, during a press\nconference at the KPK\u2019s Red and White Building on Saturday, 14 March\n2026.<\/p>\n
Asep stated that such allowance distributions should be avoided as\nthey are essential to maintaining the integrity of public office and\nensuring that the authority of each institution is not abused.<\/p>\n
\u201cFurthermore, the Government has already distributed THR to 10.5\nmillion civil servants, police, and military personnel throughout\nIndonesia, with a total value reaching Rp 55.1 trillion,\u201d Asep\nadded.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, regional leaders need not go to the trouble of providing\nor sourcing THR for external parties, in this case Forkopimda,\nespecially when such efforts are conducted through unlawful means,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n
The process of sourcing and distributing THR in this manner could\npotentially constitute a criminal offence or unlawful act. Moreover, it\ncould trigger a domino effect leading to other violations or\nirregularities.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor this reason, the KPK urges regional leaders and Forkopimda to\nshare a common commitment to anti-corruption efforts and to support one\nanother in realising the principles of good governance in their regions\nwith full integrity,\u201d Asep stated.<\/p>\n
