Anthropic decided to develop its own\nchips amid rising demand for Claude, while AI companies race to secure\ncomputing infrastructure capacity to meet development and service needs.\nAnthropic was previously reported to be exploring a partnership with\nSamsung for chip development. However, the company believes that relying\nsolely on other firms is insufficient to meet the ever-increasing\ncomputational demands. Anthropic is not the first AI company to develop\nits own chips. In June, OpenAI introduced its own AI chip called\nJalape\u00f1o, developed with Broadcom and designed specifically for\ninference workloads.
