PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk (ANTAM), a member of the MIND ID mining\nindustry holding company, continues to strengthen its support in\nmanaging forest and land fires (karhutla) in the Mempawah region, West\nKalimantan. ANTAM President Director Untung Budiharto was present\non-site to inspect the management process and ensure the readiness of\npersonnel and corporate support in the field.<\/p>\n
The Emergency Response Group (ERG) from ANTAM, PT Borneo Alumina\nIndonesia (PT BAI), and the MIND ID Group ERG are actively conducting\nsweeps, spraying, wetting areas, and extinguishing fire hotspots to\nprevent further spread. This integrated response is being carried out\nalongside the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the TNI, the\nNational Police, the government, Fire Care Communities, and various\nother relevant parties.<\/p>\n
ANTAM President Director Untung Budiharto stated that ANTAM\u2019s\ninvolvement in managing the forest fires is part of the company\u2019s\nresponsibility to safeguard the community, the environment, and the\nareas surrounding its operational activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur current priority is to support all efforts so that fire hotspots\ncan be controlled immediately and the impact on both the community and\nthe environment can be minimised. Untung added that ANTAM appreciates all personnel working in the\nfield, including the support of the Emergency Response Group from the\nMIND ID Group, which includes members arriving from various regions\nacross Indonesia.<\/p>\n

As part of the strengthened response, the MIND ID Group has\nconsolidated 60 certified firefighters from various operational areas\nacross Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and Papua to support the fire management\nin Mempawah.<\/p>\n
Support is also being provided through various fire-fighting and\nsafety equipment, including firefighting foam, personal protective\nequipment (PPE), turnout gear, fire hoses, as well as medical and N95\nmasks to help protect both personnel and the community from the effects\nof haze.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that, based on field monitoring and coordination, the\nfire hotspots are confirmed not to originate from the operational\nactivities of ANTAM or the MIND ID Group. Nevertheless, ANTAM is taking\nproactive steps in the management because community safety,\nenvironmental protection, and controlling the impact of forest fires are\nthe company\u2019s top priorities.<\/p>\n
ANTAM continues to coordinate with MIND ID and all relevant\nstakeholders to conduct monitoring and support management until the\nsituation is declared safe.
