Another woman robbed inside taxi<\/p>\n

Another robbery inside a taxi occurred on Friday evening when
\nSusan Bayu Aji, 32, was forced to give her valuables and cash to
\nan MM taxi driver and his two accomplices.<\/p>\n
Susan's ring, necklace and bracelet, along with a cellular
\nphone and money, were taken by the three men before they made her
\nget out in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
"We are investigating the case. The victim said that it was an
\nMM taxi and its door number is 114. We have arrested the driver,
\nbut the victim does not recognize him," general crime chief Sr.
\nComr. Suhardi Alius told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
Susan took the MM taxi from the Senayan area in Central
\nJakarta, intending to go to her house in Gambir, Central Jakarta
\nat around 10 p.m.<\/p>\n
"MM taxi with license plate number B 1640 QB appeared and
\nSusan took it," Suhardi said.<\/p>\n
When the taxi arrived at Jl. Abdul Muis in Central Jakarta,
\nthe driver stopped the car.<\/p>\n
Pretending that he had to clean the car's front window, the
\ndriver got out of the car.<\/p>\n
Susan protested, saying that she was in a hurry, and the
\ncleaning should be done when the taxi was empty.<\/p>\n
Suddenly, two men got inside the taxi, threatening her before
\ntaking all of her belongings.<\/p>\n
"All of her jewelry, cell phone and cash of Rp 750,000 were
\ntaken. Susan was driven around for some two hours before being
\ndumped in Lebak Bulus. She was given Rp 100,000 to enable her to
\ngo home," Suhardi said.<\/p>\n
Susan and her husband then reported the case to the Jakarta
\nPolice right after she arrived home.<\/p>\n
Police quickly arrested AN Imron, the driver of the taxi with
\ndoor number 114, in Cibubur, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n
"When we took him to be identified, the victim didn't
\nrecognize him. So, it is possible that the taxi was faked by a
\nrobbery syndicate," Suhardi said.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Ellaide Rumiaty Tampubolon was robbed inside a taxi
\nthat looked like a Blue Bird taxi, but when the Blue Bird driver
\nwas presented to Ellaide, she also did not recognize him.<\/p>\n
"The modus operandi is that robbery syndicates are imitating
\ntaxis, especially well-known taxis, to be able to deceive and rob
\npassengers. We will try to arrest all syndicate members as soon
\nas possible," Suhardi promised.<\/p>\n
He called on taxi companies to adequately screen drivers to
\nprevent those that readily accept undercover robbers as drivers.<\/p>\n
"Taxi companies should start taking precautionary measures to
\nprevent their taxis from being used by thieves. People,
\nespecially women, have to be more careful when taking a taxi.
\nThey should really examine the taxi before taking it," Suhardi
\nsaid.<\/p>",
