        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried\nout its tenth hand-catching operation (OTT) of 2026 in Tulungagung, East\nJava. KPK confirmed that Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo was\narrested in the operation. This was verified by KPK Deputy Chairman\nFitroh Rohcahyanto. \u201cIt is true,\u201d he said on Friday, 10 April 2026. KPK\nhas 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the arrested party in the\nOTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). Previously,\nKPK began its first OTT of 2026 by arresting eight people on 9-10\nJanuary 2026. The arrests concerned alleged bribery in tax examinations\nwithin the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office of the Directorate\nGeneral of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, for the period 2021-2026. The\nsecond OTT, on 19 January 2026, saw KPK confirm the arrest of Madiun\nMayor Maidi. On 20 January 2026, the anti-corruption agency announced\nMaidi as one of the suspects in alleged corruption in the form of\nextortion involving project rewards, CSR funds, and other receipts or\ngratuities within the Madiun City Government, East Java.
