Another lesson for motorist<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A lone motorist fixing a flat tire on his car on
\na lonely street in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta early Monday, was
\nrobbed by a group of six, who first posed as kindly-hearted men.<\/p>\n
Agung Adianto, 28, a resident of Poncorawis in Purwokerto,
\nCentral Java, handed over his cellular phone, wristwatch, gold
\nnecklace and Rp 150,000 in cash after being threatened with a
\nknife by one of the street criminals.<\/p>\n
According to Jakarta Police spokesman Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis,
\nnone of the six robbers could be arrested as the street was quite
\ndeserted when the incident took place at around 11 p.m.<\/p>\n
\"The victim, who was driving alone, pulled his car over as one
\nof the tires was giving trouble. He then got out to check and fix
\nthe tire,\" Lubis said.<\/p>\n
While Agung was working on his flat tire, the six men
\napproached him and kindly offered to do him a favor.<\/p>\n
\"Agung was not suspicious and just let the men help him,\" the
\nofficer said.<\/p>\n
While the others helped the victim, one of the gang suddenly
\npointed a knife at him.<\/p>\n
\"The other men then turned on Agung and started to steal his
\nvaluables,\" Lubis said.<\/p>\n
Unable to defend himself, Agung just let the robbers grab his
\npossessions and only shouted for help after the six men fled.
