Another baby found dead<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A one-day-old newborn was found dead in a
\nplastic bag in front of a Central Jakarta housing complex on Jl.
\nKepu Selatan yesterday, the fourth such case this year.<\/p>\n
The body of the female baby was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo
\nGeneral Hospital for a postmortem.<\/p>\n
Slamet Poernomo, a forensic expert at the hospital, said the
\nbaby was apparently killed before being dumped in a waste basket.<\/p>\n
\"She suffered a severe injury in the back of her head,
\nindicating that she might have been hit by a blunt object or hit
\ninto something prior to her death. There were also vague choking
\nmarks around her neck,\" said Slamet, who examined the baby.<\/p>\n
A police officer from the Kemayoran Police Subprecinct who
\nasked for anonymity said a street sweeper found the baby and
\nimmediately told the district chief before reporting it to the
\npolice.<\/p>\n
The officer said that police were questioning four people,
\nincluding the sweeper, at the local police station. (09)<\/p>",
