        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani has\ncalled for a fair and just legal process in the acid attack case against\nKontraS activist Andrie Yunus, which is soon to be tried. \u201cProvide a\nfair process, as fair as possible,\u201d Puan said when met in the\nparliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. Andrie Yunus, who\nis the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for the Disappeared and\nVictims of Violence (KontraS), was doused with acid in the Salemba area,\nCentral Jakarta, on Thursday night (12\/3). The incident happened after\nAndrie finished recording a podcast at the Indonesian Legal Aid\nFoundation office discussing the topic of militarism and the judicial\nreview of the TNI Law. In developments, the Military Police have named\nfour members of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) as\nsuspects, namely Captain NDP, First Lieutenant SL, First Lieutenant BHW,\nand Second Sergeant ES. All four are now defendants after the case file\nwas handed over to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta. The Head of\nMilitary Court II-08 Jakarta, Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto,\nstated that the first trial session for this case is scheduled for\nWednesday, 29 April 2026. The agenda for the first session is the\nreading of the indictment. Fredy said the defendants will be presented\ndirectly in the courtroom. Their presence is mandatory as part of the\nprocess of reading the charges by the military prosecutor. Military\nCourt II-08 Jakarta has also ensured that the trial will be open to the\npublic. The public, including the press, is invited to follow the\nproceedings to ensure transparency in the legal process. \u201cThe trial is\nopen to the public, just like in the state court.
