        "content": "<p>Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives from the PKS faction, Sukamta, has responded to\ndevelopments in the case of the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie\nYunus, which is suspected to involve rogue TNI members. He views the\nviolence against the activist as a threat to democracy.<\/p>\n<p>Based on circulating information, the Indonesian National Army\nthrough the Military Police Centre (Puspom) has secured and detained\nfour TNI members suspected of involvement in the incident, with ongoing\ndeepening of motives and further investigation processes.<\/p>\n<p>This member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the DI\nYogyakarta electoral district emphasised that acts of violence,\nespecially using acid against a civilian activist, constitute a serious\nviolation of human rights principles and cannot be tolerated in a\ndemocratic state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis incident is not just an ordinary criminal act, but also a\nthreat to civil liberties and democratic space. The state must not\nsuccumb to such violent practices,\u201d Sukamta asserted firmly.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, this Deputy Chairman of the PKS Faction in the Polhukam\nsector urged that the legal process be conducted transparently,\nprofessionally, and accountably. He requested that there be no efforts\nto cover up the case, and that all perpetrators, both executors and\nthose suspected as intellectual actors, be revealed openly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe in Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives will\nmonitor this case seriously.
