Andrean seventh in World C'ships<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian Chess Association (Percasi) Master
\n(MP) Andrean Susilodinata, 10, recorded the best result among his
\nteammates in the World Youth Chess Championship in Oropesa del
\nMar, Spain.<\/p>\n
Competing in the 10-years age group, Andrean finished in
\nseventh place out of 92 players. He defeated Russian Daniel
\nLintchevski on the 37th move of the Petrof defense on Monday.<\/p>\n
Nguyen Ngoc Truong of Vietnam collected 9.5 VPs to proclaim
\nhimself world champion in Andrean's age group.<\/p>\n
In the 12-years age group, MP Ferry Ferdiansyah only achieved
\nworld 16th ranking out of 90 players with 7 VPs. In the last
\nround, he was defeated by Omid Norouzi of Ireland on the 35th
\nmove of the French defense.<\/p>\n
Deep Sengupta of India became world champion in this group by
\ncollecting 9 VPs.<\/p>\n
Playing in the 14-years age group, MP Susanto Megaranto beat
\nRafe Martyn of England on the 37th move of Sicilian defense.
\nCollecting 7 VPs, Susanto, last year's bronze medalist, came in
\n17th out of 95 players.<\/p>\n
Another player in the group, MP Taufik Halay was ranked 28th
\nwith 6 VPs. He tied with Kezli Ong of Sweden in the 53rd move of
\nthe Dutch defense.<\/p>\n
The world champion in this group is Oleksandr Aryeshchenko of
\nUkraine with 9 VPs.<\/p>\n
Competing in the 16-years age group, MP Tirta Chandra Purnama
\nended up in 26th place out of 85 players with 6.5 VPs. He was
\nbeaten by Bram Vermeulen of Belgium in the 25th move of the
\nSlavic defense.<\/p>\n
Zviad Izoria of Georgia is world champion in this group with
