        "content": "<p>Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives, Andre Rosiade, inspected the construction of the\nMulti-Purpose Building at Universitas Andalas (Unand) on the Limau Manis\nCampus in Pauh District, Padang. The Rp 9 billion construction project\nis targeted for completion in June.<\/p>\n<p>Andre was accompanied by Unand Rector Efa Yonnedi and university\nofficials during the inspection. The current construction progress\nstands at around 36 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Andre explained that the building\u2019s construction follows up on a\nrequest from Unand Rector Efa Yonnedi in 2024 to facilitate funding\nsupport from state-owned enterprises through CSR programmes. These\nefforts bore fruit with funding from Pertamina amounting to nearly Rp 9\nbillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that time, the Rector in 2024 asked us to help facilitate finding\nCSR funding from state-owned enterprises for building the Multi-Purpose\nBuilding. Alhamdulillah, we managed to secure funding from Pertamina,\nand construction has already begun by Unand,\u201d said Andre to reporters on\nThursday (9\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Faction in the House of\nRepresentatives assured that the building\u2019s construction is targeted to\nbe completed on 21 June 2026, ready to be utilised as a centre for\nstudent activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInsya Allah, it will be completed on 21 June 2026. We, along with\nthe Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Investment Management Agency,\nDony Oscaria, will inaugurate it,\u201d said Andre, who is also the General\nChairman of the Minang Family Association (IKM).<\/p>\n<p>Andre hopes that the inauguration of the multi-purpose building will\ninvolve the leadership of the State-Owned Enterprises Investment\nManagement Agency (BP BUMN) along with Pertamina\u2019s management, as a form\nof synergy between universities and state-owned enterprises in\nsupporting the strengthening of higher education facilities in West\nSumatra.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the very least, we will arrange for the Head of BP BUMN to\ninaugurate it, accompanied by Pertamina\u2019s management,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The inspection of Universitas Andalas\u2019s Multi-Purpose Building\nconstruction forms part of Andre Rosiade\u2019s commitment to strengthening\nsynergy between universities, the central government, and state-owned\nenterprises to support improvements in human resource quality while\naccelerating economic growth in West Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>Unand Rector Efa Yonnedi is also optimistic that the multi-purpose\nbuilding construction can be completed according to the set\ntimeline.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, insya Allah, we can complete it on 21 June 2026, after which it\nwill be inaugurated,\u201d said Efa Yonnedi.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Unand Rector expressed thanks to Andre Rosiade for\npaving the way for the multi-purpose building\u2019s construction. This is\nbecause the existing building is already fully booked throughout the\nyear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will be utilised for students. All activities, events, and\nothers,\u201d said Efa Yonnedi.<\/p>\n<p>The Rector views the multi-purpose building as a strategic space for\nstudents to develop creativity and academic as well as non-academic\nactivities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a space for students to be creative, like a co-working\nspace, and it can also be used for performances and events,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>",
