        "content": "<p>Chairman of the 2026 May Day Committee and President of the\nAll-Indonesian Federation of Trade Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea,\nhas responded to a viral video of workers shouting about President\nPrabowo Subianto\u2019s Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. Andi stated\nthat the loud rejection during May Day originated from the front ranks\nof workers who are unmarried. \u201cWhen we identified it, we did not intend\nto intervene or anything\u2014no. Why do we not accept MBG? Because those at\nthe front are mostly single,\u201d Andi said at the Grand Mansion Hotel in\nMenteng, Central Jakarta, on Monday (4\/5). According to him, for those\nwithout child dependents, funds from the government programme would be\nfar more beneficial if redirected to their own future development needs.\n\u201cSingle, yes, they do not have children, so they reject MBG. For them,\nwhy bother? It\u2019s more important for the funds to go to other development\nneeds. So, we must emphasise that,\u201d Andi said. Andi described the\nspontaneous action as a pure expression of freedom of opinion by the\nworkers. He assured that for groups of workers who are married, the MBG\nprogramme still receives full support. \u201cThat is the labour movement. It\ncannot be suppressed and is as it is. Prabowo once\nasked the workers about the usefulness of the MBG programme. He stressed\nthat his flagship programme is important for future generations.
