Although Pertamina has denied these claims, the possibility of\nimplementation remains.<\/p>\n<p>It has been rumoured that certain four-wheel vehicles will be\nrestricted from consuming the 90 RON fuel. A prominent rumour suggests a\nban on vehicles with engines exceeding 1,400cc using Pertalite.<\/p>\n<p>Despite digital systems like the MyPertamina app being prepared for\nmonitoring at fuel stations, Agus noted significant gaps and challenges\nin their on-ground implementation.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The planning is indeed like that. It requires MyPertamina, but the\napp isn\u2019t accurate and can be manipulated,\u2019 Agus told Kompas.com\nrecently.<\/p>\n<p>Agus added that many people recklessly fill luxury cars such as\nToyota Alphard or Voxy with Pertalite, which has a 90 RON rating.<\/p>\n<p>Long-term effects of using fuel not matching specifications could\ndamage engine components, cause knocking (detonation), and reduce\nvehicle performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Buying an expensive car but filling it with Pertalite isn\u2019t good for\nthe vehicle. Indonesians tend to focus on short-term savings without\nconsidering long-term consequences,\u2019 Agus said.<\/p>\n<p>Roberth MV Dumatubun, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga,\nstated that QR codes are used to track subsidised fuel distribution.\nAffluent individuals are advised to use non-subsidised fuel.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Luxury vehicles, whose manufacturer specifications recommend\nhigh-octane fuel\u2014meaning non-subsidised fuel\u2014should use fuel that\nmatches their specifications,\u2019 Roberth told Kompas.com recently.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed subsidised fuel is intended for eligible consumers, but\nPertamina has not issued a ban on luxury car owners using Pertalite,\nonly issuing recommendations.<\/p>",
