        "content": "<p>Anak Krakatau increasingly active<\/p>\n<p>SERANG, West Java: Mount Anak Krakatau, a volcano standing in<br>\nthe Sunda Strait, has been showing increasing activity  -- marked<br>\nby occasional explosions -- since mid-February, local sources<br>\nsaid here Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>People living closest to the volcano have continually been put<br>\nunder an \"alert\" status while tourists have been banned from<br>\nvisiting it.<\/p>\n<p>The sources told Antara since November 1992 when it spewed<br>\nlava, gravel and ash, the volcano had continued to be active all<br>\nyear long. It kept on spewing lava and ash to a height of 1,000<br>\nmeters.<\/p>",
