An Idul Fitri anomaly<\/p>\n
The most celebrated of Islamic holidays, Idul Fitri, is
\nsometimes accompanied by unwanted problems. It is in such a
\nblissful time, when people are earnestly forgiving one other,
\nthat crime actually reaches its peak.<\/p>\n
Robbers regularly break into homes left empty by families on
\nholiday, while accidents haunt those on the move as they pack
\nbuses, trains and ferries to be with their families and friends
\nfor the annual celebration.<\/p>\n
From time to time, Idul Fitri seems to be a paradox, because
\nit brings along its own ups and downs. People are overwhelmed
\nwith joy but on the other hand they must weep for lost ones.<\/p>\n
Is Idul Fitri better or worse than in previous years? In many
\ncases it was much better before. There were less accidents, less
\ncrime and (the holidays) were much safer and more orderly than we
\nhave ever imagined.<\/p>\n
As a result of the government's decent preparation and the
\npublic discipline to manage themselves, most people were able to
\ncelebrate Lebaran this year in peace, joy and happiness.<\/p>\n
