Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman personally inspected the seed\ncentre, which is the largest rice seed facility in Southeast Asia,\nlocated at the Agricultural Assembly and Modernisation Agency (BRMP)\nPadi in Sukamandi, Subang, West Java.<\/p>\n
During his visit, Amran observed the rice seed production process\ndirectly. He noted that this facility serves as a primary source of\nseeds that will be distributed to various regions throughout\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the largest source of seeds in Southeast Asia, and from\nhere, source seeds are distributed across all of Indonesia. We must\nmaintain this well. This is the largest rice seed centre in Southeast\nand we must guard and oversee it,\u201d Amran stated during his inspection on\nWednesday (2\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
He mentioned that the seed production at the site is substantial,\nreaching 245 tonnes of seed production this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cCurrently, we have produced 245 tonnes so far this year. That is a\nsignificant amount for seed distribution across all commodities,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Amran added that seed production will continue to be developed. The\ngovernment considers the existence of the seed centre in Sukamandi to be\na crucial component in ensuring the availability of source seeds to\nsupport national rice production.<\/p>\n
