        "content": "<p>Amoseas signs contract<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Amoseas Indonesia Inc. of the United States<br>\nsigned an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)<br>\ncontract with the AEC consortium for the second and third units<br>\nof the Darajat geothermal power station in West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina, the state-owned oil company assigning Amoseas to<br>\ndevelop the geothermal field in Darajat, said in a statement here<br>\nyesterday that the consortium, comprising of Stone &amp; Webster<br>\nEngineering Corp., Process Engineers Inc., AEC International<br>\nProjects Inc., Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. and Kanematsu<br>\nCorporation, will construct the units each with a generation<br>\ncapacity of 70 megawatts (MW).<\/p>\n<p>The construction of the second unit is scheduled to be<br>\ncompleted in the fourth quarter of 1998 and the third in the<br>\nfirst quarter of 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Amoseas, acting as the legal representative of Chevron Darajat<br>\nand Texaco Darajat of the United States, produces geothermal<br>\nsteam at Mount Darajat under a joint operation contract with<br>\nPertamina.<\/p>\n<p>Amoseas currently supplies geothermal steam for the first unit<br>\nof the Darajat power station. The first unit, with a generation<br>\ncapacity of 55 MW, is operated by PT PLN Pembangkit Listrik Jawa<br>\nBali I, a subsidiary of the state electricity company PT PLN.<br>\n(10)<\/p>",
