        "content": "<p>Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta held the grand launching of its Dies\nNatalis at the field of Building VI Amikom on Wednesday (19\/8\/2026).\nCarrying the theme \u2018Creativity for Society\u2019, this year\u2019s Dies Natalis\nseries brings the spirit of providing impact to society through\ncreativity and various activities involving the community.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the 32nd Amikom Dies Natalis, Bernadhed, said the theme\nwas chosen because Amikom wants to make creativity a means of providing\nbenefits to society. \u201cOur concern is how we provide impact to society\nwith one of our strengths, namely creativity,\u201d Bernadhed said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the series of Dies Natalis activities will target\nthe academic community as well as the external public. A number of\ninternal activities such as badminton and safe running have been\nprepared as part of the event series.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, external activities will target high school students\nthrough Mobile Legends (ML) and Free Fire (FF) game competitions. In\naddition, Amikom has also prepared a dance competition and a number of\ncreative activities to be held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor external, we have games for high school students, so there are\nML and FF. Later we will also have activities at JEC, there is a dance\ncompetition there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The series of activities will be continued with a number of other\nagendas involving the community and communities in Yogyakarta. These\nactivities are scheduled to take place throughout September.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Rector of Universitas Amikom Yogyakarta, Prof Suyanto,\nsaid the grand launching of the Dies Natalis is a momentum to be\ngrateful for various achievements that have been attained while\nstrengthening the direction of campus development.<\/p>\n<p>Suyanto assessed that higher education institutions need to begin\nchanging their dependence on income from students by strengthening\nresearch results. Amikom, he said, is targeting at least 30 percent of\ncampus income to come from research.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt least 30 percent of Amikom\u2019s income is from research. We expect\n30 percent to 70 percent,\u201d Suyanto said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, strengthening research is important so that higher\neducation institutions are able to have a more sustainable source of\nincome while producing impactful innovations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must change how research income is more important in the long\nterm compared to income from students,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Suyanto also conveyed Amikom\u2019s achievement in the World University\nRankings for Innovation (WURI). He said Amikom is ranked 67th in the\nworld, placing it among the top 100 universities in the world in that\nranking.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Amikom recorded a number of achievements in other\ncategories, including Visionary Leadership, Entrepreneurial Culture and\nEcosystem, Cost-Effective Management, and Brand and Reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Suyanto said these achievements are capital for Amikom to continue\ndeveloping strategic research. One of them is by elevating local stories\nso they can be recognised at the global level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow local stories become world-class stories,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He cited the development of the film \u201cAjisaka: The Kingdom of the\nFlower of Life\u201d as one of Amikom\u2019s strategic research projects. The\nfilm, according to Suyanto, involves a number of international actors\nand is part of Amikom\u2019s efforts to develop the creative industry.<\/p>",
