But a visit<br>\nto Ambon may not resolve the problem, and if that were to happen<br>\nMegawati&apos;s credibility as a leader could be damaged.<\/p>\n<p>However, people will certainly understand that the Ambon case<br>\ncannot possibly be resolved merely by a vice presidential visit.<br>\nStill, by going there Megawati could at least better familiarize<br>\nherself with the local situation. And, even more importantly, the<br>\npeople of Ambon will not feel abandoned.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally the Vice President&apos;s personal safety would have to<br>\nbe guaranteed and extra precautions may need to be taken,<br>\nespecially if Megawati should wish to meet with representatives<br>\nof the population.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case, Megawati should go to Ambon as soon as she<br>\npossibly can.
