Alleged killer of Intan arrested<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): City police detectives in cooperation with
\npersonnel of the Rancah police sub-precinct in Ciamis, West Java,
\nhave arrested a man who allegedly shot his girlfriend to death.<\/p>\n
Jacky Dave, alias Inyo, 24, was apprehended on Saturday
\nmorning at an elderly woman's house in Rancah village, after the
\npolice had been searching for him for over a week, city police
\nspokesman Lt. Col. Bambang Haryoko told reporters yesterday.<\/p>\n
The suspect, currently detained at the city police
\nheadquarters, was shot in the leg as he tried to attack the
\ndetectives during the raid, Bambang said.<\/p>\n
Based on a police investigation, Jacky is the alleged killer
\nof Intan Sari Dewi, also 24. He allegedly shot Intan with a .46
\ncaliber FN pistol at their rented house on Jl. Matraman Raya 94,
\nKebon Manggis, Matraman, in East Jakarta, on April 7.<\/p>\n
Several days after the incident, police arrested Jacky's
\nfriend, Soni Seta Umbara, 24, believed to have been the owner of
\nthe gun, and questioned five witnesses who were at the scene of
\nthe crime.<\/p>\n
The witnesses, friends of Jacky and Soni, were identified as
\nVera, Indra Baby, Lukman Hakim, David and Arif.<\/p>\n
\"All statements made by the witnesses matched, saying that the
\nmotive of the shooting was jealousy,\" said Bambang.<\/p>\n
Based on preliminary police investigations, Jacky is believed
\nto have shot Intan in the arm, with the bullet then piercing her
\nchest and back.<\/p>\n
After the shooting, Intan, who was heavily tattooed, was
\nrushed by some of the witnesses to the nearby Cipto Mangunkusumo
\nGeneral Hospital.<\/p>\n
Intan died within minutes of arriving at the hospital.<\/p>\n
Police have not revealed what Jacky and his friends do for a
\nliving, saying only that most of the men, including Jacky, are
\nunemployed.<\/p>\n
Based on the results of questioning the suspects and
\nwitnesses, police concluded that Jacky shot his girlfriend after
\nheated arguments between them.<\/p>\n
It all started after Intan found Jacky, at the house, having
\nsex in the bathroom with Vera, a woman who worked as a hostess at
\nthe Atlanta discotheque in downtown Kota, West Jakarta. Intan
\nalso worked there.<\/p>\n
Jacky, who lost his temper, took a gun and allegedly aimed it
\nat Intan.<\/p>\n
Police found two other guns along with six magazines and a bag
\ncontaining bullets and other material evidence, such as a blood-
\nspotted bed sheet, bed and pillows and an empty shell of a .46
\ncaliber shotgun at the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n
Jacky is facing murder charges, while Soni faces charges of
\nillegally possessing a gun and bullets.<\/p>\n
Bambang said that the dossiers of the case would be completed
\nsoon by the police to be submitted to the East Jakarta
