Alleged fuel pump leak not found<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Jakarta Environment Management Agency (BPLHD) head
\nKosasih Wirahadikusumah said no leak was found at Kramat Sentiong
\nfuel station, Central Jakarta, as alleged by local residents.<\/p>\n
\"We carried out a hydrostatic test two weeks ago, but so far
\nhaven't found leakage at the pump that was said to have polluted
\nthe residents' wells and should therefore be closed,\" Kosasih
\nsaid at City Hall on Monday.<\/p>\n
Kosasih explained the test was made by emptying the fuel
\ncontainer, filling it with water and pumping air into the
\ncontainer to a specific pressure.<\/p>\n
\"The air pressure did not fall in two days, longer than the
\nrequired day of testing. That's why we have concluded that there
\nis no leakage at the pump,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The agency stated that allegations regarding the pollution of
\ngroundwater at locals' wells were made by some people amid the
\nrefusal of the station owner to make a \"security payment\" to
