        "content": "<p>Alleged bomb makers nailed in East Aceh<\/p>\n<p>BANDA ACEH, Aceh (JP): East Aceh Police precinct have arrested<br>\nseven alleged bomb makers in a recent raid at a welding workshop<br>\nin Payabili village, an officer said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Police Special Operation Cinta Meunasah deputy chief Supt.<br>\nYatim Suyatmo said the arrests were made on Tuesday during a<br>\ncrackdown at the workshop apparently used for making bombs.<\/p>\n<p>The seven, identified as the station's owner Suryadi and<br>\nemployees -- Syamsul Bahri, Warimin bin Waris, Suwardi bin<br>\nSugiatno, Suhaimi, Legi bin Barien and Syawaluddin bin Arianto --<br>\nare currently being detained at the police station for further<br>\nquestioning.<\/p>\n<p>\"We'll investigate their roles in the bomb production. But one<br>\nthing for sure is that they have violated the laws,\" Suyatmo said<br>\nas quoted by Antara.<\/p>\n<p>He did not specify the laws he was referring to.<\/p>\n<p>At the welding workshop, the police had found several articles<br>\nsuch as steel bars, a Handie-Talkie antenna, two grinders and two<br>\nmetal shells supposedly to be filled with explosive powder.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will investigate further to uncover their suppliers and<br>\nbuyers as homemade bombs had been used in various attacks on<br>\ngovernment's facilities and security personnel,\" Suyatmo said.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, Pidie Police precinct chief Ass.<br>\nSupt. Heru Budi Ersanto said on Wednesday that joint security<br>\nforces raided on Tuesday the headquarters of the Free Aceh<br>\nMovement (GAM) in Cot Baroh village, Glumpang Tiga district in<br>\nPidie regency.<\/p>\n<p>The officer said the raid triggered a gunfight that killed ten<br>\npeople including two separatist rebels, one of them was later<br>\nidentified as GAM deputy commander of Tiro district Tengku Yahya,<br>\n60, who was also an advisor to GAM commander Tengku Abdullah<br>\nSyafiie.<\/p>\n<p>Antara reported that apart from the fatalities, there were at<br>\nleast 21 residents who are missing. Many believe they have died.<\/p>\n<p>Heru said the raid by the 70 police personnel was aimed at<br>\nlocating the three missing police officers allegedly kidnapped by<br>\nGAM rebels.<\/p>\n<p>\"And we have learned from residents that the missing officers<br>\nare being held hostage at the GAM headquarters in Cot Baroh<br>\nvillage,\" he said.
