The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Amman has\nconfirmed that all Indonesian nationals (WNI) who were stranded in\nJordan due to flight cancellations have returned home. The final return\ntook place on 9 March 2026.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan, Ade Padmo Sarwono, stated that\nthe latest return involved dozens of Indonesian nationals who flew back\nfrom Turkey. \u201cAs of 9 March 2026, all Indonesian tourists stranded in\nJordan have returned to Indonesia,\u201d Ade told Tempo on Tuesday, 10 March\n2026.<\/p>\n
The KBRI Amman had received reports since 28 February 2026 regarding\nseveral Indonesian tourists stranded in Jordan. They were unable to\ncontinue their travels as numerous flights were cancelled amid\nescalating tensions in the Middle East region.<\/p>\n
A total of 186 Indonesian tourists from 10 travel agencies were\naffected. They were scattered across six hotels in Jordan after entering\nthe territory from the West Bank.<\/p>\n
Ade stated that KBRI Amman subsequently provided assistance to the\ntourists to arrange their independent return. By early March, all\ntourists had been gradually repatriated to Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The embassy also maintained direct communication with the stranded\nIndonesians to ensure their welfare. \u201cKBRI informed them of repatriation\nroute options and provided guarantee letters for those who would be\nrepatriated through Saudi Arabia,\u201d said Ade.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Ministry recorded that the number of Indonesian nationals\nin Jordan reached 1,989 as of 7 March 2026. They comprise migrant\nworkers in domestic service and hotel industries, students, diaspora\nmembers, and KBRI staff and their families.<\/p>\n
Despite heightened tensions in the Middle East region, the government\nstated that no Indonesian nationals in Jordan have become victims of the\nconflict. To date, no evacuation of Indonesian nationals from the\ncountry has been conducted.<\/p>\n
Ade stated that KBRI Amman remains prepared with contingency measures\nshould the security situation deteriorate. The Indonesian mission\ncontinues to coordinate with the Foreign Ministry to finalise evacuation\nroute options if necessary.<\/p>\n
