All hostages fine: Military<\/p>\n
JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Trikora Military Commander Maj. Gen.
\nAmir Sembiring said on Tuesday that 11 Irianese hostages released
\nby rebels on Monday \"are in fine condition\".<\/p>\n
They were treated well by their abductors, the two-star
\ngeneral said.<\/p>\n
\"The only thing they are suffering from are scratches on their
\nfeet because their abductors always demanded they move from one
\nplace to another to avoid arrest (from the security
\nauthorities),\" Sembiring was quoted by Antara as saying.<\/p>\n
The hostages, most of them women, were kidnapped by an
\nIrianese rebel group on May 5 following a raid on a residential
\narea at Arso oil palm plantation in Jayapura.<\/p>\n
According to Sembiring, none of the women were assaulted by
\ntheir abductors.<\/p>\n
\"I have received no such report in this case,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Led by Hans Bomay, the rebels killed four villagers, wounded
\nthree and robbed others during the raid, the military said.<\/p>\n
With the help of the Papua New Guinea military, the people
\nwere freed on Monday morning from the rebels' hideouts in Bewani,
\nPNG, which is located about 12 kilometers from the border with
\nIrian Jaya.<\/p>\n
The 11 villagers are scheduled to be handed over to the
\nIndonesian authorities on Wednesday in Vanimo by PNG Minister of
\nDefense Pieter Weiang to Indonesian ambassador at the country,
\nBenny Mandalika.<\/p>\n
Amir Sembiring and Irian Jaya Governor Freddy Numberi also are
\nscheduled to fly to Vanimo on Wednesday to transport the hostages
