Alexander Downer to visit Indonesia<\/p>\n
AUSTRALIA: Australia's foreign minister said he would visit
\nIndonesia on Wednesday to discuss counterterrorism and fighting
\nthe spread of weapons of mass destruction.<\/p>\n
Alexander Downer said in a statement on Tuesday that he would
\ndeliver a speech in Jakarta on \"one of the greatest threats to
\ninternational and regional security -- the proliferation of
\nweapons of mass destruction.\"<\/p>\n
Downer said he also will discuss the war on terror and
\nAustralia's contribution to reconstruction efforts in tsunami-hit
\nAceh province.<\/p>\n
Downer is to head to Malaysia later in the week to attend a
\nmeeting of foreign ministers ahead of an inaugural East Asia
\nsummit in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n
\"Australia's relationship with Malaysia has gone from strength
\nto strength this year, highlighted by the April visit to
\nAustralia by Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi and the launch of
\nbilateral free trade agreement negotiations,\" Downer said.<\/p>\n
\"I intend to undertake a short program of bilateral activities
\nin Malaysia and meet with a number of influential Malaysians to
