        "content": "<p>Akbar tells House to work harder<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: House of Representatives Speaker Akbar Tandjung swore<br>\nin new legislator Trimedya Pandjaitan on Monday with a call on<br>\nthe legislative body to improve its performance.<\/p>\n<p>Akbar said the House had a lot of work to do in its remaining<br>\ntwo years in office, while public expectations are on the rise.<\/p>\n<p>The House has been under constant scrutiny by the public due<br>\nto its unsatisfactory performance and the high rate of<br>\nabsenteeism at sessions to deliberate bills, according to Akbar.<\/p>\n<p>The legislative body has made the bills on general elections,<br>\npolitical parties and a constitutional commission its top<br>\npriorities.<\/p>\n<p>Legislator Trimedya, formerly a lawyer, represents the<br>\nIndonesian Democratic Party of Struggle.
