Nouwen on Saturday criticized traffic<br>\nmanagement in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Nouwen, who was in Bali to attend the opening of the AIT&apos;s<br>\nRegion II 13th general assembly, specifically pointed to the<br>\nabsence of separation between motorcycle and car lanes.<\/p>\n<p>This, he said, allows motorcycles and cars to freely overtake<br>\neach other.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;In fact, this practice is very dangerous and not up to the<br>\nstandard international traffic regulations,&quot; he was quoted by<br>\nAntara as saying.<\/p>\n<p>Nouwen labeled traffic in Indonesia, especially in Bali, as<br>\ndisorder. He said Indonesia should learn from Malaysia, which has<br>\nseparate lanes for cars, motorcycles and bicycles.<\/p>\n<p>He advised that the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) should<br>\nalso play an active role in traffic regulation.<\/p>\n<p>As an influential organization, the association could act as a<br>\nbridge between the public and the government.
