        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Lembaga Penyelenggara Pelayanan Navigasi\nPenerbangan Indonesia (LPPNPI), or AirNav Indonesia, has stated that the\ntemporary closure of affected airports is a mitigation step to ensure\naviation safety following the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau (GAK).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a mitigation measure to support aviation safety, taking into\naccount the distribution of volcanic ash in the airspace,\u201d said Hermana\nSoegijantoro, EVP of Corporate Secretary at AirNav Indonesia, in an\nofficial statement in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>AirNav Indonesia continues to monitor developments in airspace\nconditions and the spread of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAeronautical information will continue to be updated in line with\nactual conditions and aviation safety information,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>AirNav Indonesia is also coordinating continuously with aviation\nstakeholders to ensure that information on airspace conditions and air\nnavigation services is communicated in a timely manner.<\/p>\n<p>The company confirmed that six airports have been closed due to the\nspread of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau, in order to safeguard\nthe safety of flight operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAirNav has again updated aeronautical information regarding the\noperational status of a number of airports affected by the volcanic ash\nfrom Mount Anak Krakatau,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The update was made taking into account the spread of volcanic ash,\nwhich according to monitoring by the BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology and\nGeophysics Agency) has extended to Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java,\nLampung and Bengkulu, as well as the ongoing volcanic activity of Mount\nAnak Krakatau, which remains at Level III (Alert).<\/p>\n<p>Based on the updated Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), six airports remain\nclosed due to the volcanic ash, with closures estimated to last until\n08.59 WIB on 7 September 2026. They are: first, Soekarno-Hatta\nInternational Airport (CGK), closed from 23.20 WIB on 6 September until\nan estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September.<\/p>\n<p>Second, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP), closed from 23.26 WIB on 6\nSeptember until an estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September. Third, Radin\nInten II Airport in Lampung (TKG), closed from 23.23 WIB on 6 September\nuntil an estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth, Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung (BDO), closed from\n23.31 WIB on 6 September until an estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September;\nfifth, Budiarto Airport in Curug (RTO), closed from 23.29 WIB on 6\nSeptember until an estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth, Pondok Cabe Airport (PCB), closed from 23.36 WIB on 6\nSeptember until an estimated 08.59 WIB on 7 September.<\/p>",
