Airline company gets bomb threat<\/p>\n
BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Malaysia's Pelangi Airways has received a
\nbomb threat over plans to resume its Banda Aceh-Kuala Lumpur-
\nPenang flights on Friday, Nov. 28, Antara reported.<\/p>\n
\"The provincial administration of Aceh regrets the incident,
\nwhich has also caused us harm,\" head of the provincial tourist
\noffice, Ramli Dahlan, said here yesterday.<\/p>\n
Dahlan said an anonymous letter received by Pelangi Airways
\nthreatened that its planes would be exploded if it insisted on
\nlanding at the Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport here Friday.<\/p>\n
He said investigations are underway to determine whether the
\nletter was sent from here, Medan or Pekanbaru, which Pelangi
\nAirways also serves.<\/p>\n
Dahlan said he hoped the airline would not be affected by the
\nthreat, which he said was made by irresponsible people.<\/p>\n
He added that the provincial government has sent the airline a
\nletter assuring its safety in Aceh.<\/p>\n
Pelangi Airways opened the Kuala Lumpur-Penang-Banda Aceh
\nroute in November 1994 but stopped serving it last September due
\nto the lack of aircraft.<\/p>",
