Indonesia and Belarus are exploring stronger bilateral\ncooperation across several strategic sectors, including food security\nand energy, following a meeting between Chief Economic Affairs Minister\nAirlangga Hartarto and Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin in\nMinsk on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The bilateral meeting took place on the sidelines of the 8th Session\nof the Indonesia\u2013Belarus Joint Commission Meeting and marked an\nimportant step in strengthening economic ties between the two\ncountries.<\/p>\n<p>Airlangga said discussions focused on enhancing trade and economic\ncooperation as well as expanding partnerships in several priority\nsectors. According to him, Belarus is a strategic partner for Indonesia\nin Eastern Eurasia and serves as an important gateway to the Eurasian\nEconomic Union (EAEU) market.<\/p>\n<p>In his opening remarks, Airlangga welcomed plans for Belarusian\nPresident Alexander Lukashenko to make a state visit to Indonesia in\nearly July 2026. Preparations for the visit are currently underway,\nincluding the completion of several key agreements expected to be\nfinalized during the trip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndonesia is ready to welcome a Belarusian business delegation as\npart of the president\u2019s visit,\u201d Airlangga said in a statement on\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Belarus holds a significant role in supporting\nIndonesia\u2019s industrialization agenda, food security goals, and market\ndiversification efforts.
