AirAsia Indonesia has adjusted flight schedules on various domestic and international routes to maintain operational sustainability amid rising costs, particularly in aviation fuel and operational components. The airline apologises for any inconvenience and offers affected passengers options including free rescheduling, travel credits, or full refunds. Government measures, such as fuel surcharge adjustments and VAT exemptions on domestic economy tickets, provide some relief, though further rationalisation is necessary to ensure service stability in a challenging aviation industry.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - AirAsia Indonesia has assured that services remain
intact following schedule adjustments to flights on several routes, both
domestic and international, in recent days.

Acting Director of Indonesia AirAsia Achmad Sadikin, in a statement
in Jakarta on Monday, said these adjustments are part of efforts to
maintain service continuity amid ongoing operational dynamics.

“We understand the inconvenience felt by passengers and extend our
apologies for this situation. We are striving to the utmost to ensure
every passenger receives appropriate handling options,” he stated.

Sadikin also expressed appreciation for the government’s responsive
measures in maintaining balance in the national aviation industry amid
increasing cost pressures.

Policies on fuel surcharge adjustments and exemptions from import
duties on aircraft spare parts represent strategic steps that provide
room for airlines to sustain operations.

On the other hand, the policy of government-borne Value Added Tax
(VAT DTP) at 11 percent for domestic economy class air tickets also
plays an important role in keeping prices affordable for the public.

In line with such support, the aviation industry still faces
significant cost pressures, particularly due to rising avtur prices and
other operational components.

Although fuel surcharge adjustments of up to 38 percent have been
factored in as part of mitigation measures, these efforts have not fully
offset the existing cost pressures.

“Therefore, capacity rationalisation and gradual operational
adjustments remain necessary, particularly on routes with limited
margins, to ensure service sustainability and maintain airline
operational stability,” Sadikin said.

As a form of responsibility and commitment to affected customers,
AirAsia Indonesia has implemented service recovery options (SRO) for all
impacted passengers, including schedule changes without charge (free
reschedule) within a 30-day period; provision of credit accounts via
AirAsia MOVE for future transactions; and full refunds.

“Indonesia AirAsia will continue to monitor the situation’s
developments and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure aviation
services run smoothly and provide comfort for all passengers,” Sadikin
said.
",
