AIA to advise RI companies<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Investment and financial advisory firm AIA
\nCapital Corporation and the Blackstone Group, a private New York-
\nbased investment bank, announced on Thursday that they had formed
\na partnership to pursue restructuring, mergers and acquisitions,
\nand related capital raising advisory assignments in Asia.<\/p>\n
Under the partnership agreement, the two institutions will
\ncollaborate on an exclusive basis in Indonesia, Thailand,
\nMalaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong and on a nonexclusive basis in
\nother Asian markets, to help ailing companies in the countries
\nrestructure and raise capital.<\/p>\n
AIA's managing director Jamie C. Gonzalez said that in the
\nwake of the Asian economic crisis, many Asia-based corporations
\nwere in need of advice on restructuring their operations and
\nraising capital.<\/p>\n
AIA Capital Corporation is the flagship investment and
\nfinancial advisory unit for Asia of insurance and finance company
