        "content": "<p>Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid stated\nthat the utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) for the\ndigitalisation of social assistance (bansos) and the strengthening of\nmicro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is an effort to bolster the\nreal economy and improve public welfare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTechnology must be a tool to improve the people\u2019s welfare,\nstrengthen MSMEs, and ensure that digital transformation truly benefits\nall of Indonesia,\u201d Meutya said in an official statement received in\nJakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Meutya conveyed this at the Indonesia Summit 2026 in South Jakarta on\nWednesday (17\/6), highlighting that AI will also serve as a catalyst for\nthe growth of MSMEs, which have long been the backbone of the national\neconomy. With the support of digital technology, small business\noperators will gain broader market access, better operational\nefficiency, and opportunities to expand their businesses to the regional\nlevel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe figures for digital economic growth must be reflected in and\nhave an impact on society,\u201d Meutya said.<\/p>\n<p>Meutya explained that the use of AI for social assistance helps\nmanage and analyse recipient data more accurately, making the processes\nof verification, data updating, and decision-making faster, more\ntargeted, and more efficient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAI helps the government manage and analyse data better, so that the\nverification process, updating recipient data, and decision-making can\nbe carried out more accurately,\u201d Meutya stated.<\/p>\n<p>Meutya said the digitalisation of social assistance will reach\napproximately 18 million beneficiary families or around 50 million aid\nrecipients across Indonesia. She added that a trial of the programme in\nBanyuwangi Regency has shown positive results, and the government is now\npreparing to expand its implementation to other regions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this programme proceeds according to plan, it will become one of\nthe largest digital inclusion programmes in the region,\u201d she said.<\/p>",
