        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional\nDevelopment Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has spoken out on the\nproposal to relocate women\u2019s carriages to the middle of trains. The\nproposal was previously put forward by the Minister for Women\u2019s\nEmpowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Arifah Fauzi, in response to\nthe fatal collision between the long-distance Argo Bromo train and a KRL\nat Bekasi Timur Station. Regarding the proposal, AHY stressed that the\npositions of women and men are equal. They, he said, must not become\nvictims in any incidents. \u201cClearly, men and women are the same; no one\nshould become a victim in any incident,\u201d AHY told reporters at Bekasi\nGeneral Hospital on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. AHY explained that public\nsafety when using public transportation must be the top priority. Thus,\neveryone using public transportation should feel safe and comfortable.\n\u201cSo what we focus on is not women and men, but how to make the train\ntransportation system and other public transportation systems safe,\nsecure, providing a sense of safety and comfort,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd \u2018safety\nfirst\u2019 should not just be a slogan but something we can truly implement\nwell,\u201d AHY clarified.
