Pekanbaru - The Riau Regional Police are strengthening security ahead\nof Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 by conducting specialized training for\nthe RAGA Team (Riau Anti-Gang and Anarchism). With enhanced \u201ccombat\u201d\ncapabilities, the RAGA Team is expected to be more responsive in\nhandling various situations and potential threats to public security and\norder.<\/p>\n
This second wave of training has been underway since February 9,\n2026, with a training focus emphasizing field skills\u201470 percent practice\nand 30 percent theory. Personnel are equipped with various crucial\nmaterials, ranging from Criminal Code socialization, arrest techniques,\nuse of force, emergency first aid (PPGD), to intensive close-quarters\ncombat training.<\/p>\n
Riau Police Internal Affairs Inspector Comr. Prabowo Santoso said the\nformation of the RAGA Team is a direct response by the Riau Police to\nthe increasing potential for security threats such as thuggery, juvenile\ndelinquency, and street crime in the Riau region.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Riau Police Training School Head Comr. Indra Duaman said\nthe addition of 244 personnel in this second wave complements the 231\npersonnel trained in the first wave. A total of 475 trained personnel\nare now ready to be deployed.<\/p>\n
