Jakarta — PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara will procure three-wheeled
motorcycles to support the operational needs of Merah Putih Village and
Kelurahan Cooperatives, with a portion of the procurement sourced
through imports.

Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, Chief Executive Director of PT Agrinas
Pangan Nusantara, stated that the imports are necessary because domestic
manufacturers cannot fulfil all of Agrinas’ demand.

“The three-wheeled motorcycles total 160,000 units. We have already
placed orders with all domestic producers,” he said on Friday (27
February 2026).

He acknowledged that the company had contacted all three-wheeled
motorcycle manufacturers operating in Indonesia. However, the
overwhelming order volume has stretched local production lines to
capacity.

“Viar, Kaisar, and Ace, plus TVS at the front, they are also unable
to produce in such large quantities. For the remainder, we must order
from abroad and import out of necessity, because local producers can no
longer handle the volume,” he stated.

Joao did not provide further details regarding the proportion of
three-wheeled motorcycles sourced domestically versus through
imports.

Regarding the procurement of commercial vehicles from India that has
been the subject of public discussion, Joao explained that the total
number of vehicles ordered is 160,000 units, comprising 80,000
four-by-four pickup trucks and 80,000 light trucks.

The contract with the Indian manufacturer covers a total of 105,000
units. Mahindra will supply 35,000 Scorpio Pick-Up units, whilst the
remaining 70,000 units come from Tata Motors, comprising 35,000 Yodha
Pick-Up units and 35,000 Ultra T.7 Light Truck units.

“Currently, 200 units have arrived, and by the end of the month,
1,200 units will have arrived,” he said.

The remaining vehicles come from manufacturers that already have
assembly facilities in Indonesia.

“So 20,600 units from Mitsubishi, 13,200 from Foton, 10,000 from
Hino, and 900 from Isuzu — these we have already ordered,” he
concluded.
",
