The initiative was formalised through a coordination meeting\non national poultry stabilisation involving integrated poultry\ncompanies, farmer associations, the Food Task Force, and the Directorate\nGeneral of Livestock and Animal Health. All participants signed a\nwritten commitment to accelerate the recovery of live chicken prices,\nensuring a fair profit for farmers through measured and sustainable\nsteps. The commitment includes accelerating the absorption of live\nchickens and increasing slaughtering capacity at poultry abattoirs. The\nagreed target is a minimum farm-gate price of Rp19,500 per kilogram of\nlive weight, to be achieved no later than 15 July 2026. The price\nrecovery will be implemented in stages starting from 30 June 2026,\nmoving gradually towards the government\u2019s reference price to achieve\nmarket balance without disrupting supply or business activities.\nDirector General of Livestock and Animal Health Agung Suganda stated\nthat all business actors are also committed to maintaining production\nbalance in accordance with Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 10\nof 2024 to prevent oversupply that depresses poultry selling prices.\nSupervision of the commitment\u2019s implementation will be carried out\njointly by the government, the Food Task Force, the Business Competition\nSupervisory Commission, regional governments, and poultry associations\nto ensure all agreements are effectively executed in the field. Agung\nemphasised that the government will impose sanctions on business actors\nwho ignore the commitment, following the directive of the Minister of\nAgriculture to maintain price stability and the sustainability of\nbroiler farming. Secretary General of the National Chicken Farmers\nOrganisation Sugeng Wahyudi said live chicken prices over the past two\nmonths have severely hit farmers as they were below production costs. He\nappreciated the government\u2019s role in maintaining stability so that all\nbusiness actors committed to implementing a minimum price of Rp19,500\nper kilogram, then moving toward the government reference price of\nRp25,000 per kilogram within two weeks. Secretary General of the\nIndonesian People\u2019s Poultry Association Muhlis Wahyudi called on all\nbusiness actors to implement the agreement without exception.
