The Attorney General\u2019s Office (AGO) has stated it will apply articles\non money laundering (TPPU) in the corruption case concerning the\nmanagement of the free nutritious meal programme (MBG).<\/p>\n
The Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah,\nsaid the money laundering charges would be brought against the suspects\nin order to pursue assets obtained through corruption. \u201cLater, it will\ncertainly be applied, definitely TPPU if there is evidence we will\npursue it,\u201d he told reporters at the Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) office\nin South Jakarta on Monday (15\/6).<\/p>\n
Febrie explained that the prosecution of this corruption case is not\nsolely a criminal process and the recovery of state financial losses. It\nis also intended to restore the MBG programme to its original purpose as\nenvisioned by President Prabowo Subianto. \u201cWe want the BGN to run\naccording to the original plan. The original plan was for children, our\nchildren, so they are well-nourished, they are well, when they go to\nschool their stomachs are filled, so they can receive good learning,\u201d he\nexplained. \u201cThat is why we are processing this, we are opening this up,\nand we are pushing to ensure the good objectives of MBG can succeed. You\nalso guard the new ones so they can run according to expectations, these\nare children, the nation\u2019s children,\u201d Febrie added.<\/p>\n
Separately, the Head of the AGO\u2019s Legal Information Centre, Anang\nSupriatna, stated that the application of money laundering charges is\nexpected to recover state financial losses caused by the suspects. \u201cNot\nonly to criminalise the individuals, but also how we recover state\nlosses, with one of the instruments being the TPPU against related\nparties and those who received funds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously, the AGO had named a total of five suspects in the\ncorruption case concerning the management of the free nutritious meal\nprogramme (MBG) by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for the 2025-2026\nperiod. The five suspects are former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana; former\nBGN Deputy Heads Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung; Sony\u2019s associate Asep\nYusuf Somantri (AYS); and the Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal\n(YAT), Andri Mulyono.<\/p>\n
In this case, the AGO explained that the MBG programme should have\nbeen managed by Nutrition Service and Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) foundations\naffiliated with recipient schools. However, in practice, many SPPGs were\nappointed because they had affiliations with BGN officials. Furthermore,\nmany foundations did not actually meet the requirements to become SPPG\npartners. There were also mark-ups in the procurement prices of goods,\nresulting in losses that did not support the operational implementation\nof MBG.
