        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Attorney General\u2019s Office (AGO) investigation\nteam, known as Tim 9, has confirmed the involvement of businessmen Tan\nKian and Ferry Hongkiriwang in the handling of the alleged corruption\ncases at PT Asabri and Jiwasraya. The confirmation was made during their\nexamination as witnesses in a suspected money laundering (TPPU) case, in\nwhich former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus)\nFebrie Adriansyah has been named a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We confirmed the allegations related to the handling of Asabri or\nJiwasraya. We sought to verify whether there is indeed strong suspicion\nthat the Asabri or Jiwasraya cases align with our allegations,\u2019 said Tim\n9 Coordinator and Junior Attorney General for Supervision Rudi Margono\nat the AGO Main Building in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>For the day\u2019s proceedings, investigators had scheduled the\nexamination of 11 witnesses in the money laundering investigation.\nHowever, three witnesses were unable to attend, while eight complied\nwith the summons. The eight witnesses examined were identified by their\ninitials as FYH (Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang), TK (Tan Kian), RT, RY, TH,\nTB, and ES. Investigators will reschedule the summoning of the absent\nwitnesses to obtain their statements.<\/p>\n<p>In this money laundering case, Tim 9 has named two suspects: Febrie\nAdriansyah, the former Jampidsus, and Nurman Herin, a private sector\nindividual. The new investigation order was issued after the AGO\nreceived case files and evidence, including 74 kilogrammes of gold and\nhundreds of billions of rupiah in foreign currency, from the National\nPolice. The AGO had previously issued three other investigation orders\nfollowing the transfer of cases from the police as part of a law\nenforcement synergy. These include an order for alleged corruption and\nmoney laundering at PT KNI, an order for alleged corruption in coal\ngovernance at a steam power plant suspected of triggering blackouts, and\nan order related to alleged corruption and money laundering in the\nhandling of the PT Asabri case.<\/p>",
