        "content": "<p>A woman identified by the initials J (40) was caught by the Civil\nService Police Unit (Satpol PP) while begging in the Menara Kudus area,\nCentral Java. An inspection revealed she was carrying more than IDR\n500,000, which she admitted was the result of a single day\u2019s\nbegging.<\/p>\n<p>Satpol PP officers were conducting a sweep of beggars, homeless\npeople, and vagrants in the religious tourism area of the Menara,\nMosque, and Tomb of Sunan Kudus on Sunday (2 August 2026). J was\napprehended because she frequently begged aggressively from pilgrims at\nthe site.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018She was begging aggressively, which the public complained about. If\nshe wasn\u2019t given money, she would get angry, pull on pilgrims\u2019 clothes,\nand even followed a pilgrim onto a motorbike taxi and pulled their\nshirt,\u2019 said Yan Suryo Samudro, Head of Public Order and Community Peace\nat the Kudus Satpol PP, as quoted by detikJateng on Wednesday (5\nAugust).<\/p>\n<p>When first caught, J claimed she earned IDR 200,000 from begging from\nmorning until night. However, upon inspection, it was revealed that the\nmoney she had totalled IDR 540,000. \u2018Among those we caught, one woman\nwas the focus because she begged aggressively. She claimed it was IDR\n200,000, but after checking, it turned out to be IDR 540,000,\u2019 he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Yan said J has been given guidance to prevent a recurrence and to\nmaintain order at the place of worship and among pilgrims at the Sunan\nKudus Tomb.
