Agency offers foreign husbands for women<\/p>\n
THAILAND: A Thai matchmaking service promises to deliver foreign
\nhusbands to lovelorn Thai women for the sum of 50,000 baht, or
\nabout US$1,200, and \"guarantees\" a divorce replacement if the
\nfirst husband fails to live up to expectations, it was reported
\non Sunday.<\/p>\n
Kusuma Hoiter, manager of the matchmaking service in Khon Kaen
\nin northeastern Thailand, was quoted in the Sunday Nation
\nnewspaper as saying the only requirements are that the woman is
\nmore than 20 years old and is \"not afraid of housework\".<\/p>\n
\"The most important quality (foreign men) want is that the
\nlady is hardworking when it comes to household chores,\" Hoiter
\nsaid, adding she had arranged marriages for about 60 to 70
\ncouples since opening the business four years ago.<\/p>\n
Hoiter said the service includes a trip to meet the
\nperspective husband in his country, but there is \"no requirement
\nto have sex with him\".<\/p>\n
The intrepid businesswoman said she thoroughly investigates
\nboth parties before introductions are made, and keeps in touch
\nwith her clients by telephone after they marry to ensure they are
