        "content": "<p>Agencies report no increase in travel<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The uncertain political situation in the capital<br>\nused to be a blessing in disguise for travel agencies, airline<br>\ncompanies and hotels, as many people rushed to find a \"safer<br>\nplace\".<\/p>\n<p>But things no longer seem to be that way. Even though the<br>\npolitical situation has heated up recently, there has been no<br>\nsign of an exodus.<\/p>\n<p>Sales and marketing manager of Panorama Tours Tom M.C. Ifle<br>\nsaid there had been no increase in the number of travelers who<br>\nhad contacted them over the past few days.<\/p>\n<p>\"On the contrary, it (the total) decreased in the past couple<br>\nof days,\" he told The Jakarta Post on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Petty, a ticketing agent at Iwata Nusantara Tours and Travel,<br>\nsaid that very few foreigners had booked tickets on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\"In the past years, foreigners usually rushed to buy tickets<br>\nif the situation heated up. But now, most of them already have<br>\nstandby tickets,\" she said.<\/p>\n<p>Airline companies did not see any extraordinary change in the<br>\nnumber of passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\"It's normal, and there's been no significant increase or<br>\ndecrease,\" Edy Suwarsono, the head of reservations at Garuda<br>\nIndonesian Airways, told the Post.<\/p>\n<p>A similar situation was found in most hotels all over the<br>\ncapital.
