The distribution of rice under the Food Supply and Price\nStabilisation (SPHP) programme has come under scrutiny following\nsuspected misuse by distribution partner personnel in Matraman and at\nthe Cipinang Rice Market in East Jakarta. In response, state-owned Perum\nBulog is tightening oversight of government rice distribution.<\/p>\n
Bulog president director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the company had\nformed a special task force to bring order to the distribution of SPHP\nrice. \u201cBulog has a major responsibility to ensure that every government\nassignment is carried out properly and delivers tangible benefits to the\npublic,\u201d he said on Thursday (29 October 2026).<\/p>\n
As part of its internal response, Bulog has also suspended six\nemployees pending further examination. The administrative measure is\nintended to ensure that the review is conducted objectively,\ntransparently and accountably, without pre-empting its findings.<\/p>\n
The state-owned food company has established a Special Task Force to\nRegulate the Distribution Programme for Government Rice Reserves (CBP).\nThe task force will strengthen monitoring of distribution channels,\nassess the compliance of distribution partners and ensure that every\nstage of government rice distribution follows the rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe formation of this task force demonstrates the company\u2019s\ncommitment to building a stricter, integrated and sustainable oversight\nsystem across all its operational areas,\u201d Rizal said.<\/p>\n
He stressed that any problems in carrying out government assignments\nmust be handled professionally and used to inform improvements to\ncorporate governance. Accordingly, all information and findings from the\nfield will be followed up seriously, objectively and in accordance with\nthe rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe review and enforcement measures we are taking are part of our\ncommitment to continually strengthen integrity, discipline and the\nquality of oversight in implementing government food programmes,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Rizal also called on all Bulog personnel at headquarters, regional\noffices and branches to improve their discipline and diligence in\noverseeing SPHP rice distribution.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have instructed all Bulog personnel, at headquarters, regional\noffices and branches, to strengthen discipline, diligence and oversight\nat every stage of distribution,\u201d Rizal said.<\/p>\n
