After his application was rejected by the Attorney General\u2019s Office\n(Kejagung), former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)\nSony Sonjaya has submitted a request to become a justice collaborator\n(JC) to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The application\nis connected to an alleged corruption case concerning the management of\nthe free nutritious meals programme (MBG) for 2025-2026, which is being\nhandled by the AGO.<\/p>\n
Sony\u2019s legal counsel, Krisna Murti, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday\n(24\/6) that the application to the LPSK is currently under review and\nall requirements have been completed. He said the LPSK will visit Sony\u2019s\nlocation and the AGO. Krisna revealed the reason for the JC application\nwas the lack of security and safety guarantees for Sony and his family\nafter he disclosed dozens of names allegedly involved in the case. He\nexpressed hope that the LPSK would make an objective decision without\nintervention from other parties.<\/p>\n
Separately, LPSK Chairman Achmadi confirmed that the agency is still\nexamining Sony\u2019s JC application and will coordinate with relevant\nparties. Previously, the AGO rejected Sony\u2019s JC request. To facilitate\nhis application to the AGO, Sony had reportedly submitted 41 names of\nfigures linked to the MBG case and alleged fictitious procurement within\nthe BGN.<\/p>\n
The AGO\u2019s Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General\nfor Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated the rejection was\nbecause Sony did not meet the requirements to be a JC regarding the\nalleged buying and selling of Nutritional Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG)\nlocations. He explained that JC implementation is regulated by Law\nNumber 31 of 2014 and Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 4 of 2011,\nrequiring that the individual is not the main perpetrator and admits to\ntheir actions. Investigators concluded Sony was the main perpetrator,\nbeing the most responsible party in determining or verifying SPPG\nlocations. Furthermore, investigators found that Sony had not yet\nadmitted to the alleged acts.<\/p>\n
In addition to Sony, the AGO has also named former BGN Head Dadan\nHindayana and former BGN Deputy Head Lodewyk Pusung as suspects in the\ncase.
